Destination and Travel Time
You'll fly from Belize City (BZE) to Dangriga (DGA). Your flight time is a short 15 minutes. The drive from Dangriga to Hopkins is approximately 30-40 minutes.
Baggage Restrictions
Tropic Air permits each passenger travelling domestically in Belize one carry-on and one checked bag.
Carry-ons include personal bags such as a purse or a small backpack. Maximum weight of these items cannot exceed 15 pounds, and due to limited cabin space, all carry-ons must fit in your lap.
Checked bags should have a total dimensional size limit of 62 linear inches with the width limited to 30 inches and the height to 15 inches.
In addition, they permit car seats and strollers for infants and children to be carried for free.
Travel Instructions
After clearing customs, take an immediate left in the same building and check in with Tropic Air. Then proceed to the domestic departures lounge where there are duty free shops, gift shops, and a small restaurant and bar. Upon arrival at the Dangriga Airstrip, you will be met by your driver, who will be easily identifiable since the local airstrip in Dangriga is fairly small. The drive to Hopkins Village from Dangriga will take you through the valley of the Maya Mountains, small ethnic villages, and citrus orchards. Most of this road is paved, but as you get into Hopkins, it will change to gravel roads.
